‘He set up his business in our hometown’ - Chic Magazine

An Irish woman who works alongside her brother and father at their heritage clothing company has told how special it is to be a part of the third-generation family-run business.

Sarah Murphy is head of sales and marketing at the Dublin-based company Jack Murphy. It was originally established by Sarah’s grandfather, Jack, in the 1940s after World War II. She told Chic how he had started working in clothing manufacturing, specifically corsetry and underwear, and learned “the whole garment trade, from design to pattern making to garment manufacturing to sewing” — “everything that is creating a garment, from start to finish”.
