What is Abraham Moon tweed?

Abraham Moon tweed is a premium wool fabric produced by the historic Yorkshire mill Abraham Moon & Sons, established in 1837. It is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship, rich texture, rigorous third-party testing, complete production under one roof, and traditional British heritage.

Why is Abraham Moon tweed fabric considered high quality?

The mill controls every stage of production, from dyeing and spinning to weaving and finishing. This ensures outstanding consistency, traceability, durability, texture and colour depth, resulting in tweed that performs beautifully for many years.

Is an Abraham Moon tweed jacket suitable for everyday wear?

Yes. The natural durability and breathability of pure wool make an Abraham Moon tweed jacket ideal for regular wear, whether you're dressing for the countryside, commuting or attending smarter occasions. The natural water resistance of Abraham Moon tweed fabric also makes these jackets and coats suitable for cooler and wetter weather throughout winter, autumn and spring.

What makes wool tweed a good choice?

Wool tweed provides natural insulation and water resistance whilst remaining breathable and hard-wearing. It resists everyday wear exceptionally well and develops even more character over time, making it an excellent long-term investment and a staple piece in your wardrobe for many years to come.

How should I care for Abraham Moon tweed?

Brush the fabric occasionally with a soft clothes brush to remove dust, and allow garments to air between wears. Professional dry cleaning is recommended when a deeper clean is required.
