Fabrics From Heritage Mills

Quality begins with the cloth, which is why we work with mills that have been perfecting their craft for well over a century. Halley Stevensons has been waxing cotton in Dundee since 1864, and Abraham Moon & Sons has woven wool in Yorkshire since 1837. Donegal tweed carries its own distinctive flecked character, produced by a spinning process specific to the region.

These fabrics are chosen for handle, colour depth and durability rather than cost. Waxed cotton develops a patina unique to its wearer, while wool tweed softens and settles with age, so both improve rather than deteriorate over time.

Construction Made to Last

Premium fabric is wasted without construction to match. Our luxury pieces use considered seam work, secure fastenings, durable linings and hardware selected to survive years of regular use, because the weak points in outerwear are almost always the details rather than the cloth.

Practical features are built in rather than added on. Pockets sit where you actually need them, cuffs adjust properly, and there is room to layer knitwear underneath without the coat pulling across the shoulders.
